COA CHATTER | November 2011
NOVEMBER wow the year is almost over and what a year it has been for me and the COA. I can’t believe I have been the director for one year at the end of the month. Where did the time go? I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has helped me make this year successful. Especially my volunteers, Ione Hansell, Fran Ahern, Lana Mogan, Joyce Haynes, Arthur Judge, Bob Branga, Linda Lehman and Bob Steeves without you I don’t know if I would have survived. A special call out to the COA board members for their ongoing support. Thank you all so much.
We will begin this month with a trip to the North Shore Vocational School in Middleton. The school bus will pick us up at 10:15 at the Tiffany Room. Lunch will be provided in the Log Bridge Inn by the culinary arts students. The cost is $8.00.
Next up is lunch and entertainment at Angelica’s Ballroom in Middleton. The featured performance is by Mark Verselli impressionist. Mark plays your favorites, Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis to name a few. Dinner would by your choice of Yankee Pot Roast or Baked Boston Schrod. The cost of this trip depends on if you want to drive yourself or take our bus, $46 or $48 respectively. The event begins at 11:30; therefore the bus will leave Nahant at 10:00 AM.
On November 22nd, a day we all remember, we will be heading into Boston to visit the JFK Library and Museum. We will have a family style Italian dinner at Maggiano’s Little Italy, and then off to the library. This trip will be limited to 14 people so sign up early. The cost will be $40.00 which includes the bus ride, dinner and admission to the Library.
This month I am bringing back a guest chef and live entertainment to help celebrate the November birthdays. This event will be on Wednesday November 30th at 11:30 in the Tiffany Room. The cost of lunch & entertainment will be $5.00, sign up required.
Coming attractions: look for these events in December, direct from the heart of Broadway, the Radio City Christmas Spectacular starring the Rockettes date TBD, Cabaret Lulu at Old Sturbridge Village on December 15th and on December 12th we are partnering again with the Lynn COA for a trip to the Indian Head Resort in the White Mountains of NH for a full day or food, entertainment, sightseeing and shopping. The seats are limited so call the center to sign up for this and all events.
Look for these and other fun activities on the Nahant Calendar at www.nahant.org and on the cable TV station.
Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!!
