At this week's Selectmen's meeting students from the Johnson School presented a $774.26 donation to help the Nahant Lifesaving Station.

The students held a coin drive and teddy bear raffle to raise the money.

The Board praised and thanked all the students for their hard work and effort on behalf Nahant's Lifesaving Station.

The Board of Selectmen took the opportunity to recognize Peg Silva who organized the fund raising effort with the students.

She was presented with a plaque commemorating March 27, 2003 as "Peg Silva" Day in Nahant recognizing her leadership and dedication as a teacher at the Johnson School.
