FIELD TRIP TO LONG HILL, 572 ESSEX STREET, BEVERLY. Director Dan Bouchard will be our tour guide through the house and gardens. Meet at St. Thomas Aquinas parking lot at 9 a.m. to carpool. Cost $5 per person.

Marie Patrice Masse, author of
“Confessions of a Seed Snatcher,” will present “SEEDS, SEEDS, AN INDOOR COLLECTING FIELD TRIP.” at the Nahant Dory Club
Learn about reclaiming our seed saving heritage, a much forgotten skill, vital to our ancestors’ survival.
Bring your own sandwich; drinks and dessert will be provided.

…AMERICA’S OLDEST AGRICULTURAL FAIR. Topsfield Fairgrounds, Old Rte. 1 Topsfield, MA Two members will volunteer as hostess in the Horticulture display.

October 29, 2015 Thursday 6 p.m. POTLUCK SUPPER AND PUMPKIN FEST at Nahant Village Church
Bring a dish to share for the potluck supper and a free form design using a pumpkin for the Pumpkin Fest. Categories are: scary, whimsical, classical and techno- inspired. This is not a flower show but it is an opportunity to be a little creative and have fun.

Deborah Trickett, whose business, The Captured Garden, is all about keeping container gardens appealing in all seasons, will share creative ideas to carry you through the holidays to spring. Deborah is an award-winning container garden designer whose work has been featured in The Boston Globe, Garden Gate magazine, New England Home magazine and on the TV show New England Dream Home.

Steve Grinley, our speaker, is a naturalist. His store is “Bird Watcher’s Supply and Gifts” and is known as “Birding Central” by New England birders. Steve lectures and leads birding trips. The club will provide a choice of soup and rolls: members are asked to bring salads. We will also be collecting unwrapped “Toys for Tots”

Neal Sanders, mystery writer, popular public speaker and blogger of The Principal Undergardener, will share his unique and humorous observations on gardening and gardeners in his talk. Coffee will be served.
