Friends Of The Nahant Public Library

Introduction The Friends of the Nahant Public Library are organized to raise money to supplement  town funding of the Library. The Friends support the Library through book sales and bake sales and membership. The money raised is used for both adult and children's programming . The Friends also support other needs of the library not funded by budget appropriations such as refinishing furniture, special book purchases, newspaper and magazine subscriptions, copier upkeep and other building needs.

- Individual memberships are $7.00
- Family memberships are $15.00
- Memberships are renewed annually in January

Donations
As of March, 2005, the Friends organization has registered with the Internal Revenue Service and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a tax-exempt Corporation. This allows the Friends to accept donations that are tax deductible. Any donation over $250 will automatically be answered with a tax letter sent back to you. If you want a tax letter for donations under $250, you need only attach a note to your check and the tax letter will be sent. These special donations will go directly to repairs and expansion of your library.
